Welcome to St. Mary's Highley

We are a lively and welcoming Christian community made up of four churches at the heart of our villages. We’re here for everyone: long-standing residents, new arrivals, families and visitors alike. We work closely together across all four churches as we seek to live out our faith in everyday life.

Our pattern of worship includes regular Sunday services, special seasonal celebrations, and opportunities to gather for prayer, reflection and fellowship. Alongside worship, our churches host a wide range of activities and events throughout the year, from community coffee mornings and charity shop initiatives to concerts, social gatherings and services for key moments in village life.

Whether you come to worship, to find a quiet space, to explore faith, or simply to feel part of a caring community, you are warmly invited to be part of our benefice family.

Who We Are

We are a people reconciled to God and to one another through Jesus Christ. We are a family of four churches, made up of people of different ages, backgrounds and stories, all gathered around the same Lord. We believe the Church is not simply a building we visit, but a people we belong to, brought near to God and to each other through what Jesus has done. Jesus is at the centre of who we are, and everything else follows from that.

Why We Gather

We gather to know Jesus. We come together to worship, to pray, to hear God's Word, to share Holy Communion, and to encourage one another in faith. None of this was ever meant to be done alone. We gather because we belong to Christ, and through Him, to one another, week by week, across all four of our churches.

Why Our Life Together Matters

Our life together makes Jesus known. Ephesians 3:10 tells us that through the Church, the manifold wisdom of God is made known. When we love one another, welcome others in, forgive, pray, serve and give generously, we become a visible expression of the reconciling love of Jesus, not just in what we say, but in how we live together. Together, our lives declare that Jesus Christ is Lord.

“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms…”
EPHESIANS 3:10 (NIV)

How We Live

We seek to know Jesus and to make Him known in everyday life. Our seven priorities (worship, prayer, God’s Word, relationships, hospitality, serving and generosity) shape our life together. They are more than church activities. They are ways in which we grow as disciples of Jesus and make His love visible in our churches, our villages, and wherever God has placed us.

"There is something profoundly important about simply being the Church. When God's people gather around Christ, worship together, hear His Word, pray, forgive one another, welcome people, serve their communities and live generously, our life together becomes part of our witness."
